Image uploader permission problem, still in 3.4.2

  • Hi.
    Has someone else the problem (dating from 3.4.1) when the image uploader is setting wrong permissions on uploaded files? Uploaded images get 640 and will not be shown, until changed via ftp to 644 (or more).

  • I suspect that that is at least in part due to server configuration, particularly the directory umask. Do you know what the umask is for your web root?

    Nope, umask is a new term to me, and I am hosted. Is there any way to check (and then maybe change umask) myself or do I have to speak to the host?

    You don’t need to speak to someone who’s body has been taken over by a parasitic alien but it might be a good idea to contact the company you pay to hold and display your website.
