image uploading is “failing” The error msg says it fails but…

  • …the file is uploaded and I can see it on the filesystem but I can’t access/post it from the media gallery. It never shows up.

    The error message…

    The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2021/09.

    But: 

    /usr/local/www/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2021/09]# ls -ltr 
total 0
-rw-r--r--  1 www  www  0 Sep  8 18:49 Screen-Shot-2021-09-08-at-6.46.12-PM.png

    New install of 5.8 on a new database, all new and working fine until this.
