Since Image Widget 4.4 introduced the use of ?srcset and size attribute support? which uses the WP-functions wp_get_attachment_image_srcset and wp_get_attachment_image_sizes which were only introduced into WordPress in version 4.4 the plugin breaks and shows the error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_attachment_image_srcset() in /home/tmpviareise/public_html/viareise/wp-content/plugins/image-widget/image-widget.php on line 294

Googling for that error brings up quite a few results where sites have also broken.

For administrative reasons I am prohibited from updating WordPress to a different major version. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this?

Thanks very much for any replies!

You’re right, our apologies for this. If you need a fix in the short term, please do try this development snapshot. Does that help?

    Hi Barry

Thanks for the reply! We always test plugin updates on a staging server – so no harm done. ??

Yes, the development snapshot solves it.

    Thanks!
