Image with a caption and text surround

I have been playing with the idea of adding a caption next/under/above an image and then surrounding the image with text using either float or align.

Obviously the text part is easy enough but how would I go about adding the caption for the image without incorporating the text itself as part of the image?

I hope this makes sense ??
