• I’m not sure if such a thing exists but, if there is a way for it to work or if there’s such a solution already, I would love to find it, even if it’s a paid solution.

I use a WordPress site as an archive of sorts for social media and print content I produce for various places. Nearly all that content is produced and distributed as images, though the vast majority contains text within the images.

The problem is that the text within the images doesn’t make its way into the alt tags of the images. Given the abundance of OCR out there, especially open-source OCR, I am curious if such a function has been produced for wordpress as a plugin.

There are plenty that write SEO content by looking at the contents of images and that seems like a far more complex task than just extracting the existing text from the images.

Yes, it could be done manually but there are tens of thousands of individual images with more being added every day. Doing it manually would realistically mean it never getting done. An automated solution would be great.

Anyone know of a way to make that happen?
