Image zoom doesn't zoom out the image

I used this plug-in for years and never had a problrm till now. I played with the zoom features and it dosen’t seem to magnify the images-if and when it does the images are projected extremely skewed. Please tell me someone has a remedy preferably nothing requiring css php etc as i am a novice in that arena. The plug-in is currently inactive pending a response.
