I just downloaded the latest version of NextGen and have attempted to set up a gallery using the basic imagebrowser. I did not use a template in the setup.

Unfortunately, when you click the image, although it does bring up a lightbox for that image, it brings it up ONLY for that image — there are no previous or next options within the lightbox. The only way to navigate through the images is with the prev and next buttons outside the lightbox. Is this how it’s supposed to work? I was looking forward to having a gallery that actually works like the one on the official page:

I have tried changing the lightbox settings under Gallery Settings. All of them display only one image in the lightbox with no navigation.

@phillipscontracting – We showcase the NextGEN Pro Lightbox (available in NextGEN Plus and NextGEN Pro) on our home site which I believe is what you are trying to accomplish.

The NextGEN Basic ImageBrowser display by default works by using the navigation buttons at the bottom left and right on the demo page you noted.

The ImageBrowser display by default with NextGEN Gallery only opens the current image in a Lightbox, you will need to close the Lightbox and navigate between the images as you have already noted.

    – Cais.
