Imagebrowser Reloading Page and Pagination Problem

@andyml – Using “Ajax Pagination” in the ImageBrowser display is your best method of not having the page “reload” when you click on the navigation links.

The topic you referred to is very old and would not be relevant to the current NextGEN Gallery.

Perhaps you can provide a link to your site so we could see this issue live? It may be a possible conflict but we would still need a bit more information to have a better idea.

Thanks for the very quick reply.

I just checked that thread I referred to and realised it was 5 years old! Whoops!

The page I’m having trouble with is – https://www.naildesignsforyou.com/toenail-designs/

When I click the pagination then hovering over any other links after that just shows the typing cursor and not the usual “hand icon”. Like I said, it’s pretty minor but something I’d like to fix if possible.

One other thing, and I think this must be very simple and obvious, but is it possible to change the size of the imagebrowser? And in doing so, have the images within it re-size (down) to the size of the imagebrowser? I’m ideally looking to have the browser much smaller and aligned to the left of the page with the text wrapped around/to the right hand side of it. Not sure if that’s possible though.

@andyml – It appears you have not turned on pagination (or you are using an ImageBrowser custom template which does not honor the pagination setting) but I am not seeing an issue with the cursor. It may be a caching issue, have you tried clearing your browser caches, or testing with an anonymous browser instance?

It is possible to re-size the ImageBrowser display with some custom CSS. Here is an example from one of my test sites: https://take.ms/j9tr6

Here is the custom CSS I applied (inserted under Gallery > Other Options > Styles …):
.ngg-imagebrowser { max-width: 600px; float: left; margin-right: 10px; }

You will most likely need to adjust to suit your site.

The custom CSS worked perfectly, so that’s great.

It’s strange you’re not seeing the Pagination working as I’ve got the it turned on. I haven’t selected a template though, as when I do (from the list of 3 available – imagebrowser-caption.php, imagebrowser-exif.php and imagebrowser.php) then it stops working and reverts back to reloading the whole page when you click “next”. Not sure if that’s a problem or the same for everyone.

At the moment though it all seems to be working at my end. I’m testing it in both Chrome and Firefox and it’s behaving how I want it to now, and the cursor problem seems to have disappeared. So for now I’m happy!

Be warned, I may be back soon though if things go wrong again, but for now thanks very much for the help, really appreciate it!
