It is possible that images from /staging/wp-content/uploads/… find a way into search enginge’s image listings. Wouldn’t be possible if you’d use the “robots_txt” filter to disallow staging dirs at all. This way no ressource should find a way to the public like this.

Another way could be to use a .htaccess file and set a header directive – but the robots_txt way should be more cross OS and webserver compatible.

    Thanks!

    Hi Frank,

I am really sorry, www.ads-software.com did not notify me about your ticket *grumpy*

Thanks for your head up and that catch. I put this on the to-do list, it seems to be a very useful addition for sites where people disable the wp staging authentication.

Will take some time, though because I have a to-do list that is soooooooooo long:

    <— from here ………………….. to here –>

I am happy for any assistance:

Right after this method would be the perfect place.

I added your suggestion to the github issues tracker and close it here. Feel free to open it again if like to add more.

    Cheers
    René
