• I am having problems with the images and texts on Bloglovin’.

First off, my images didn’t show, and as everyone else on this forum I also got Bloglovin’s standard answer: “In order to get your images on Bloglovin, your RSS-feed needs to contain images. If your RSS-feed is not containing any images, this is the reason why Bloglovin is not displaying them. In this case, you will have to change the settings of your RSS-feed and not the settings on Bloglovin.”

I looked at the WordPress support forum and did what was suggested.
I tried https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/featured-images-for-rss-feeds/ and then deleted it again. I don’t know if this did anything.
I changed summary into full text under settings – reading.

And then I got the following … thumbnails in low resolution, couple have pictures, 5 don’t (I checked various times update thumbnail on blog info update Bloglovin’), text is the same of every post no summary or metadescription and two posts of the same (one, the first one shown here I changed the title and it is the second one shown).

I contacted the support Bloglovin’ again and got this as a reaction: “I am still unable to see any images in your RSS-feed: https://www.remakeme.nl/?feed=rss2”

Today I looked at Bloglovin. On my Apple IMAC I can see the pictures now, only they are not the featured images. And still the same text everywhere instead of the metadescription or the first few sentences. How does that work?

And through the Bloglovin app however it is the same as from the start (couple have pictures, most don’t, same text with all posts… so still the same).

Is there a plugin I have to use on my wordpress site? Do I have to change the URL of my blog page?? How do I get a good RSS feed from my website to Bloglovin’?

Please, can anybody help me with this? Help and/or explanation would be very much appreciated :)!

Well, really it’s up to Bloglovin’ to make sure they product works as described, especially if your feed is operating properly in basic feed readers. You shouldn’t have to install anything just for them.

Now, let’s talk about your feed. ??

Your feed seems to be just fine at https://www.remakeme.nl/?feed=rss2 and its is valid, though there are a few inconsequential warnings: https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.remakeme.nl%2F%3Ffeed%3Drss2

Are you using any plugin or theme function to inject the same starting line into the beginning of each post? If so, which plugin is that?

Also, I should probably mention that it can take Bloglovin’ up to 24 hours to refresh a feed, so you won’t be instantly seeing any changes on their end.

    Thnx for answering!

First off I agree with you that it’s up to Bloglovin to make sure their product works as described. As stated I am getting very short responses to my questions :(.

And I know that it takes some time to refresh a feed.

So to answer your question. I looked everywhere where I put the text which is the same as the starting line.

I use WordPress SEO van Yoast: I have the homepage template metadescription filled in. Also on tab Social Facebook I filled this in Description frontpage settings (if I’m translating correctly). I also have in Extension setting under tab RSS the following
“Het bericht %%BLOGDESCLINK%% is afkomstig van %%AUTHORLINK%%.”
And BLOGDESCLINK = A link to the website, with the name and description of the site as link text. Could this be it?
Should I change this to %%BLOGLINK%%? = A link to the website, with the name of the site as link text.

In WordPress Settings –> General (if translated correctly) the same text is used as subtitle.

I am guessing it might have something to do with the Yoast settings? Would you agree? What should I do?

That’s possible. If you deactivate WordPress SEO, do the warnings at https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.remakeme.nl%2F%3Ffeed%3Drss2 go away?

    Nope they don’t go away…

    Any other suggestions, James?

    Hm, they’re coming from somewhere.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
