• Hi,

I just installed the Baskerville theme. Looking great all around.
    One problem though.

The inserted images to posts and pages don’t aren’t aligned in the center of the post. They appear fine in the homepage / overview of all posts, but when visiting an individual post, the image is moved the left of the page. This doesn’t look ‘right’.

There is a topic from last year where many people complain about the same issue and the creator of Baskerville stated he would fix this is in the next update. I have the latest version of the theme but the problem persists.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

  • This seems to be a problem with the latest (1.16) version of Baskerville.

I upgraded to 1.16 today and had to promptly roll back as it threw out all my 100% width images shifting them to right and cutting off the right side of the image.

Checking the HTML I found a forced element style of width 1300(ish) pixels on the wrapping <div id=”Attachment_9999″…> which seems to be the cause of the problem, but I’ve not had time to check on it. I’ll need to set up a Sandbox site to test further.

Reverting to 1.15 fixed the problem. If you can lay hands on 1.15 it might fix the problem for you too.

    Hi Stabdogg,

I’ve submitted an update fixing issues with images overflowing, but from your and Garys descriptions, I’m not sure it’s the issue you’re talking about. Could you send me a link to a page where your issue is occurring?

    Thanks,
    Anders

    Hi there,

I’m not sure if this is quite the same issue, but I’m experiencing an issue with the size and alignment of the cover photo in Baskerville.

The suggested dimensions are 1440 x 221 which seems too long and skinny and appears so wide that it pixelating even very high res images. The alignment also seems to be off-centre.

Has anyone else experienced this? Please help!

    Thanks so much,

    Hi,

I found that image caption make images not responsive. When I choose full size of image to be display, it won’t fit the content and when I resize the browser (to simulate responsiveness, it won’t auto responsive).

    Here is the example

    Hi Anders,

Thanks for your message. I’ve send you an email! Maybe it went to your junk folder. Thanks for your time!
    Cheers

    HI there

I have the same problem as Stabdogg..

I like the theme very much but would love to know how i can make sure that the image in a single post is centered

    https://melodymusic.nl

And i have the solution !!

Through Editor… CSS …. search for

    .featured-media a,
    .featured-media img,
    .featured-media iframe { display: block; }

    change the last line in:
    .featured-media iframe { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; }

Melody62 you did it!! I tried what you said and it works.
    Thanks a lot!!!!!

My mentality (always keep trying till you find the way how) is not that bad after all ??

@melody62 – Excellent piece of detective work. I can confirm it fixed the problem for me also.

    Thank you.

(@Anders, your guess was correct the issue was still present in 1.17).

?? Nice to read that it worked for you to Gary!
    Thank you !

I’m having a similar issue, but Melody’s fix didn’t work for me. By default, I set all images on my posts to Large. However, while some of them are readjusting to the with of the text column, many others are not and are hanging over far to the right.
