    I do not know why mu images do not appear visible in the media library or anywhere else. I tried using the recovery plugin but with no luck.

    Sorry but the plugin hasn’t been tested enough with multisite setups.

    Since the /uploads directory structure is different WordPress MU isn’t supported currently.

    I may come back and add this feature in the next major release.
