Images are not showing

Hi Support,
The Jetpack has been installed long ago but suddenly, the images on our website went missing. When we tried to look the image path in inspect element, an unsual link has been added to the URL. This is the sample link: https://i0.wp.com/bigmatmalta.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/P043624-1.jpg?resize=300%2C300&ssl=1
It has i0.wp.com in the beginning. When we searched this, it was related to Jetpack. See this blog: https://mariushosting.com/how-to-disable-i0-wp-com-and-i1-wp-com-from-image-url/.
However, upon checking the performance setting, everything is disabled. See this https://prnt.sc/ui3fav
What we did was to uninstall the plugin and the images show again.
Can you let us know why the link was generated even we disabled it on the backend.
