    Hi

We have been using Product Catalog for sometime now with no issues, however since end of March 2021 we have been unable to save images as a gallery to the ‘products’ we list in the catalogue. We are able to Add Media and upload the images, but if we use Create Gallery -> Insert Gallery, they display on the WordPress screen but once we click Create Product or Save Changes they disappear and do not display on our website.

    Steps followed are:
Product Catalog -> Products -> Add new product – manually / or choose product to edit -> [complete the various boxes] -> Add Media -> Create Gallery -> [choose relevant photos] -> Create New Gallery -> Insert Gallery -> Create Product / Save Changes

    Thanks

Without being able to see your product screen, I’m going to guess that perhaps you’re using a shortcode to insert the gallery into the description and that there are quotes in the shortcode and that those quotes are being escaped by slashes?

If that’s it, then try just inserting the shortcode without the quotes. For example:

    [gallery ids=1,2,3]

    Hi Jay

Thank you for your response, apologies the email went into Spam.

I don’t understand shortcode unfortunately, so am using this plugin and possibly another plugin (is a while since I set up the website) called Responsive Lightbox & Gallery.

    Many thanks

In that case, the answer is just that our plugin/catalog is not designed to have other plugins’ image galleries integrate into the description area of products created by our plugin. WordPress has a built-in gallery feature, which might be easier to use than your third-party plugin. Either way, I would not suggest putting a gallery in the description area of a product, as there is no support for this.

Thank you. Please could you let me know how we use the built in gallery feature in WordPress to add a gallery of photos to each of our products for visiters to view, and also are they able to enlarge them / click on them to view a bigger picture?

    Many thanks

    Hi spence,

As I mentioned in my last reply, I would not suggest putting a gallery in the description area of a product, as there is no support for this. It might be possible using a gallery shortcode, like I mentioned in my first reply, but it is not designed to accept this, and, as such, if it doesn’t work correctly, we cannot support it.

If you’re talking about the premium feature that lets you add multiple images to a product, then please contact us via email or our website (https://www.etoilewebdesign.com/support-center/), as discussion of the premium version is prohibited in these forums (https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products).

    Thanks
