I used “inspect” on the effected page and I can see it says “lazy” between the correct image and the wrong image that fails to load. Could it be anything related to that? I have deactivated lazy load in wp-optimize since I refunded the PRO package before. Hope this helps.

I have re-installed the free wp-opt plugin yesterday before going to bed. Today when I look at the website those pages seems to load the images… this is super strange. I have not done anything.

Any idea what is going on or how to prevent this in the future?

I got this reply from elementor support:

    `Hello Oskar!
    Thank you for contacting us.

I was reading your issue, and I understand it. Let me help you.

In this case, many of the Elementor-generated thumbnails were deleted. These thumbnails are generated when you upload a file, so there’s no way to regenerate them at the time.
As a solution, I re-uploaded a file, the thumbnails were generated, and I was able to appreciate the image on the frontend without any issues.
The advice, in this case, will be to re-upload the images that are missing their thumbnails. And please, be careful with any optimization plugin that handles files and has permission to edit them.

I hope this can help you.
Let me know if you have other questions related to Elementor.

    Regards.

So there seems to be some issue related to wp-optimize. I use the image settings in your plugin. Can someone please help me sort this out what I need to deactivate and not use in your plugin for this to work?

    Best regards,

    Oskar

    The issue is still present.

I cant share screen shots on this support forum which is good, because instead I made a short clip to show you 100% what is happening:

    https://watch.screencastify.com/v/aZLPIwCVI5FydL1UXfLC

What I try to show is:
    1) thumbnails image work
    2) the code that is not working for the images that disappear
    3) The settings in elementor
    4) the settings in your plugin for images
    5) that the only image that works is not yet compressed by wp-optimize. So this I think points to wp-optimize creating this issue.

Let me know if anything more is needed. I would really appreciate a reply to know if you need more info or are looking in to this on your end. I dont know how to solve this and I really would like to keep using your plugin ??

Thank your for your time. I will try to not bother you with more writing ??

Did you use the delete unused images or unused image size’s option in WPO?

    (@flamuren)

    Hi,

If I remember correctly I used “delete unused images” a while back. The other option you refer to I dont know. Is that running at the same time? ??

I also have the setting “Automatically delete image backups after” active. Could that have anything to do with this issue?

@flamuren Does the disappearing images throws 404 in your browser console? Or it just didn’t show up?

Is the original image exists in your uploads folder?

Automatically delete image backups after active status of this option only disables your ability to restore the original uncompressed image. Compressed image will still sit in the uploads folder.

Regarding lazy loading, it seems you are using perfmatters plugin and its lazy loading feature.

If the original image exists on your server, you can try one of these methods to regenerate your thumbnails.
    https://kinsta.com/blog/regenerate-thumbnails/

Of course, take a full backup before your doing changes.

    1) It showed 404 error. Because the website tried to load a thumbnail image (150×150) in a url path located in elementor folder on my server that was not present, but the original image was still on my server but showed another url. Super strange.
    2) The original image was still on my server.
    3) I switched to Perfmatters lazy load because it can handle background images. But that was after this issue – their support logged in to my website to see if it was their plugin causing it. Then he recommended some settings for me to get better optimization on my website as a bonus.
    4) I had to manually re-upload the images not working again. Seems to work now. However its strange that the thumbnail image size worked – but not any other resolution in Elementor when adding those specific pictures.

I would need to know if its any setting I am using. Because atm I am still building the website – but if its running live I cant have images disappear out of sudden ?? Any idea how to trouble shoot more?

I should look at the classes that contain the images and see if there is any pattern there

Hy flamuren, I am Rafia, Web developer, Hope you are doing great.
I am also facing same issue which you described above, Did you find the solution?
I just followed all the methods discussed in this form, but i still having the issue. Can you please help me out?

    Thread Starter flamuren

    (@flamuren)

@fafia no sorry no real solution other than manually add them again and prey it works. And the webp conversion does not work either, so not really sure what works with the image optimization they offer. I had ever more problems when I bought their PRO version. So seems people just install and dont pay attention to the details and thus they dont take these cases seriously because its only a few of us that care ???♂?
