    @trevormwilson looks like you have 2 lightboxes active. If you prefer not to use a built-in lightbox then and want to use the black one that shows first, then go to Other Options >> Lightbox Effects and choose No Lightbox. That will disable NextGEN Gallery’s lightbox function.

    Thanks Scott. I actually prefer it the other way around. I don’t want the black one, I only want the floating one. I changed the settings to Lightbox Effects – No Lightbox but this just leaves me with the black one that I don’t want.

    How would I disable the black one and keep the other one?

    @trevormwilson, the other one (the “black one”) is not a NextGEN effect, but it comes from “Photoswipe”, probably a script added to your theme.

    Thanks @tizz. ?? @trevormwilson – as @tizz mentioned, this is likely rooting fro your Theme. If you temporarily switch to the default WordPress Twenty Twelve theme, you’ll likely see that effect go away.
