I’ve noticed that imagens doesn’t appear on the media library, but the originals .jpg are on the ftp. I’m wondering if they don’t appear because the plugin is gone and now the site doesn’t find .webp and I have to do something to make it show the originals .jpg instead. what should I do?

When you say that they are on the ftp, do you mean that they are on the server (which you connect to through ftp) ?

Do you for example see an image in these folders on the server: ?
    – “wp-content/uploads/2019/12/favicon.png”
    – “wp-content/uploads/2020/02/bioplastia-de-gluteos-3-1024×682.jpg”

(I see that they are not served – the following requests results in 404 not found)

If you see those images on the server, then my guess is that some of the .htaccess rules wasn’t removed by the plugin on the uninstall. Check if there is an .htaccess file and if it contains a “WebP Express” section in the following locations:

    – /wp-content/uploads/.htaccess
    – /wp-content/.htaccess
    – /.htaccess

I can see the images in a browser that doesn’t support webp (Firefox 64). So it must be lingering rules in an .htaccess that you will have to remove manually

I will have to leave now, but I believe that the solution just described will work. Good luck!

Btw: How did you uninstall the plugin? And did you see any errors?

yes! that worked just fine. thank you very much for the answer! i’ve uninstalled cause i had a problem with safari not showing the images so i used the cdn friendly option before reading carefully the instructions. end up that cdn friendly plus the alter html generated too many redirections and my site just stop working. but i’m considering reinstall it as soon as safari starts to show webp extension in september. one more time: thank you very much for helping me out here. you solve a great problem for me. thank you so much!
