Images have disappeared

  • The images on my site have disappeared all of a sudden, including product images and my background. I have not changed any theme settings or pathing settings and all the permissions are correct. The only images that appear to work are thumbnails, but I uploaded a new thumbnail to a product and it doesn’t show up. The images are still in my image library and I can still upload to it.

  • I have the exact same issue, it looks like the image url’s are being corrupted somehow.

    I’m seeing parts of the image url path being striped, for example this is an actual image url in my media gallery.

    This is being output in the post/page html as this..

    As you can see “gallery/” is been stripped from the url path.

    Only started happening when the latest update 4.5.1 was automatically applied by WordPress.

    Now that you’ve mentioned the update, I was dismissing the message that was telling me to upgrade and I think it has now automatically upgraded to 4.5.1. I’m new to WordPress so my knowledge isn’t great.

    I have managed to downgrade and that has not fixed the problem.

    I’m having the same issue since updating. I saw on one forum that the issue was attributed to BackWPup plugin, which I am using. But deactivating it didn’t fix my issue.

    It’s not just the images for me. The library doesn’t display them, but they show fine when inserted into a post or page; featured images don’t display. Also, the menu isn’t working properly, the “customize” feature of WP isn’t working properly (cf. https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/multiple-wp-features-not-working-properly?replies=1#post-8346836)

    BackWPup may be the problem for some, but not all I suspect since I (and probably others) don’t use that plugin. I’m leaning more and more toward a WP issue itself.
