    Hi

I’ve been using Jetpack for a while and the tiled gallery and carousel are amazing. I was just wondering though with the tiled gallery, all my images appear to be hosted on i[0-9].wp.com instead off my own server. Photon is disabled as far as I can tell – Is there any way I can have the images be served from my server itself rather than wp.com?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack’s Tiled Gallery module does indeed use Photon to resize your images on the fly and create the tiled effect.

If you’d rather not use Photon for your gallery images, I’m afraid I can only suggest that you switch to the default gallery type and disable the Tiled Gallery module.

Another alternative would be to switch Jetpack to its development mode:
    https://jetpack.me/support/development-mode/

That will allow you to use Tiled Galleries and serve the images from your own server, but that will have 2 inconvenients:

    • You won’t be able to use other Jetpack modules that require a WordPress.com connection.
    • Your gallery images will be resized by your browser instead of by Photon. That means that you’ll load very large (original) images on each gallery page, and rely on the reader’s browser to create the tiled effect. That will work, but that will hurt your site’s performance as gallery pages will take a longer time to load.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.
