Images in wordpress on my server

  • Hi all.
    I managed to install WordPress on my server (at home) and now I want to add images I store on my image HDD. I would like to have thumbs on my page, for when clicked, bigger images from my image hard disk will be displayed. I don’t want to have all the images in my web folder as then I will have to duplicate everything. Is this possible?

    I apologize if this is a common question. I have been searching for quite some time, without any luck… and YES, I’m new in this ??
