Hi, there – and many thanks to the developers for a great and simple plugin. I have just set up my shop page with links to Amazon associates. Everything looks fine apart from the fact that there are no images showing (see the link to my page). Am I using the wrong type of link or is there just a delay, I wonder? I use the tagdiv Newspaper theme. Any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance. :- Lars

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I was a bit quick: do I need to update every photo myself? So it does not come with the link? :- Lars

Hi @sagahuus, you will need to upload a photo for each product and set that as the featured image.

Right now we don’t pull any images automatically as this plugin is designed to work with any type of affiliate link, not just Amazon.

Makes absolute sense. Thanks a lot for your reply. :- Lars

It is against Amazon’s terms to upload their images to your site. Will get you banned. At least that is my understanding.

In my case, only images with the Amazon coding taken directly from their Site Stripe are not being seen. All other images are. After putting them into the Text tab, they do not show up in the Visual tab at all.

If I make a new post or page with a Featured image, it shows up. Past posts with images show the images. It is only the ones with the Amazon html coding that are the problem, in both Visual editor and on the front end. All that shows is a little box which does lead to the Amazon product page but who would know or be motivated to click it?

Saw somewhere to make a new Admin, it worked for them. But not for me.

I have done nearly everything I know to do, all to no avail. What am I missing? Why won’t the Amazon graphics show????

    Hello,
The plugin won’t display html code that is pasted into it. You have to use the URL field to enter only a url (example: “https://amzn.to/2LNl1vg”) and upload an image as the featured image.

How you source your product images is up to you. You can often get them from the manufacturer or publisher (which is usually where amazon gets them).

If you want to use the amazon html code then you will just need to add that directly to your pages and not through the shop page wp plugin.

    Best,
    Justin

Thanks for the reply but it solves nothing.

1.–See my first paragraph about uploading images to be “featured” images or otherwise. Violates Amazon’s Terms of Service and you will be banned for doing it.

2.–Taking an image from another source, i.e., publisher’s, would not be encoded with my affiliate link.

3.–Putting the Amazon link html coding copied from the Site Stripe directly into the page IS the problem, as described.

I hope this helps someone else who might be having the same problem.

Hi Carol, the way this plugin works is that you need to supply a title, an affiliate URL, and an image file for each product.

1 – You would need to have an image on your computer first (as a png, jpg, etc) and then upload that to be the featured image for a product. How you get that image is up to you.

2 – The linking is handled when you complete the Product Affiliate URL field. The image should not be encoded.

3 – You don’t need any html: just a title, affiliate URL (link), and image file.

Let me know if this makes sense.
