One of the issues I’m seeing with the versions of Jetpack since 1.7 has been the loss of images in the subscriber e-mails. I have been unable to find the conflict so far as the issue doesn’t show up in my beta site, only the production version. Anyone else seeing this? How can I fix this without killing the plugins on the production site when it won’t reproduce in the beta?

    Thanks,
    Tim

For each article in a feed, show -> Full text

    Yes, that has been selected.
The issue is that the theme displays featured images on it’s own, they are not included in the_content at all, thus not included in the email.

@jeremy, well it seems the behavior of how the summary text gets chosen has changed. It used to send out the whole post when that was selected, even if the “more” code was in place, that’s why we weren’t using it.

Well, it works now. The image along with the text above the “more” line in the post is going out – I’m fixed. How about everyone else?

    Thanks!

@pat I am afraid we won’t be able to add the image to the notification email, unless you insert it into your post. Could you give it a try and let me know how it goes?

I am having the same issue, I use the Blog Gallery format in my post, but when my subscribers get the email all they see is a green box.

I use the Gallery instead of inserting a media file because the size and formatting is standardized

    my wordpress site is

@richielmt The problem seems to be linked to your theme, Photocrati. It inserts an iFrame in the beginning of your post, and this iFrame cannot be access in the notification emails.

Could you go to Settings >Reading in your dashboard, and set your Feed settings to “Summary”, so that you readers receive an excerpt instead of the iFrame?

I made the change, the green box has been removed but i still cant see the image. Are you saying i will never be able to see the image in the body of the email notification? Is there a way to remove the iFrame and replace ?

If you want to add images into the notification emails, you’ll have to use the core WordPress gallery functionality instead of the iFrames created by Photocrati.

Another solution would be to start each post with a single image, and then use the <!--more--> tag to split the post in two: everything above the tag will appear in the notification email, and everything that appears below (including the iFrame you use with the Photocrati theme) will appear when your reader clicks on the “Read More” link.
To use this alternative solution, you’ll have to set your Feed settings back to “Full text”.

Hello I started using the JetPack a while back. At first my (author) photo would not show. Then I updated in wordpress.com (though I host on www.ads-software.com) then the subscriber email was fine. I was instructed to change the reader from summary to full.
Now the subscriber gets an email with photos scattered throughout the text. The post is not written this way.
I would like for the subscriber to receive a summery or the post, a photo from the post, and a photo of the author. I’d like them to need to click on the site to get the full article.
And on the Iphone the email is completely garbled and random.
    Please help.

Check my last post on this thread to find out how to achieve such result.

Could you start a new thread about this issue, and post screenshots so we can see how it looks?

    Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me. Where would I find that post?
