Images not appearing on recent posts

  • My straightforward one-per-post images have stopped appearing on recent posts — from July 19.

    They appeared at the time — I have only noticed this in the past couple of days.

    A couple of possible clues:

    I attempted to add a line of CSS to put a border round images, in Appearance > Customise > Additional CSS. I have removed it!

    I recently added Swift Lite for page caching and set it up on the basic defaults. It seemed to work fine… but I have now disabled it (after purging the caches made no difference).

    I can’t think of anything else I have changed

    But one thing that changed was a Jetpack update. I switched off everything to do with images… and they appeared again.

    For the benefit of others, go easy with cache, image cache and lazy loading settings and test!
