• As you can see from the link, the images on this (and other) posts are not displaying. The link I have provided is an example but I have the same issue with some (although not all) posts. Most of the posts that are already published are OK but every draft I set up recently has the same issue.

When I look in the media library they are there and look OK. However if I upload NEW images from scratch there isn’t a problem.

I don’t really want to have to replace all these images in the media library unless I really have to – is there any way of “un-breaking” them? Or knowing what caused it?

The only clue I have is that Jetpack got disconnected for some time – it’s now reconnected but could this have an impact?

Hi there, do you have the Jetpack plugin installed, and do you have Lazy Loading activated on it? If so, turn that off. There is a problem with it, and the next update is supposed to take care of that.

Also, did you just recently change to Cubic from another theme?

Thanks for your reply @sacredpath – I do have Jetpack – I understood it was necessary for this theme to function? Am I wrong?
I just checked and lazy loading is off. Should ‘Serve images from our servers’ be on or off?
Been using Cubic theme for two or three years now so no recent change!

Actually it’s not just new images – I just tried uploading a new featured image and although it displays fine in the Cubic grid homepage, when you look at the post, the image across the top is just black – same link as above. I used an image which is 2000 x 1500… Any idea what the issue is? Many thanks.

Hi, when I pull out the URL of the image on the post, and try and view it in my browser, I get this:

    500 – Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

When I inspect the image in Firefox Developer Edition, it says the image could not be loaded.

That makes me think this is an issue at the server at your web hosting company, or some configuration in their system.

The only other suggestion I would have at the moment would be to install the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and run it and see if that fixes the issue.

If the above does not work, disable all plugins on your site and then clear your browser cache and view your site to see if the images come back. If they do, re-enable the plugins one-at-a-time, checking the site after each re-activation and see which plugin is causing the issue.
