I’ve installed FooBox, and uploaded images, and placed the images in an Image Block with the latest version of Gutenberg.

However, when I click on the images, they don’t expand into a larger view.

The issue I’m having sounds similar to this post, although I’m not understanding the instructions on that page.
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/foobox-does-enlarge-images-on-click/

Several things I’m not clear on:

Where the instructions says ‘Edit the image’, does that mean simply opening the in the media library?

I tried opening it in the media library, then selecting ‘Edit image’ with the button at the bottom of the image, but that didn’t offer anything that looked like a solution.

    Screen Grab
screen shot of image opened with Edit option

As you can also see in that screen, I also tried copying the image URL and pasting it into the ‘Custom URL’ field, and selected FooBox as the Custom Target, but that didn’t produce anything that worked. In fact, the image doesn’t even appear linked to anything, as it doesn’t offer the clickable cursor icon.

Also in the instructions, it says to link to the full size image. There’s only this image that I’m aware of, so not sure what other image I could select.

Please clarify, as this isn’t working on any of the images I’ve uploaded.

    Thanks

  • Hi @memerunner

Fist of all, kindly confirm if FooBox assets have been disabled from loading on that page or post. To do this, edit your page or post, and locate the FooBox Javascript & CSS metabox.

If you’re using the block editor, it is located in the document settings of the page. Have a look at this guide that’ll show you how to check if the FooBox assets have been disabled and how to enable them: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/foobox/getting-started/including-and-excluding-foobox-asset-loading/

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Thanks, Elvis.

My default settings (FooBox > Advanced Settings) are to include FooBox, and Document settings for that page confirm that, as the ‘exclude’ box isn’t checked.

    Hi @memerunner

Are you using the Gutenberg Editor/WP Bakery Page Builder? If so, follow these steps to enable your images to open up on the FooBox lightbox when clicked.

Once you’ve opened that page using the Gutenberg Editor/WP Bakery Page Builder to edit it, click on the edit icon on the block that the image is in. In my case, my image was in a text block and so I clicked on the “Edit Text Block” option as shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/PFpWSJ

Once you’re in the edit section, click on the image, and you’ll see an “Edit” icon appear as shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/qn4HbK . Click on the “Edit” icon and an “Image details” section will pop up as shown on this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/07IYcB

On the Image details sections, you’ll see the “Link to” option. Click on the “Media file” option to link that image to itself. After that hit on the update and save changes buttons to save all the changes made.

The image will now be opened by FooBox when clicked. Try this out and let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
    Elvis.

Thanks, Elvis, but I’m not WP Backery Page Builder. No worries, though, as Blaise helped me sort it out via email.
