Images not loading

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Oh god, I dont even really know whata plug in is!!! My ‘webmaster’ showed me how to do it and now doesnt answer emails.

I’m really sorry but unless you start learning how to do some of this stuff yourself, you’ll need to consider hiring someone else to carry it out for you.

yes, well I paid someone to set up a site for me, helping when it doesnt work doesnt seem to be part of the package! When I clicked on the plug ins page this is what i got

Try deactivating Lightbox 2.

I tried that Matthew but still nothing, its not even as if I am getting an error message, just a blank pop up with Add an image on the top left

Are you sure you want to be your own webmaster? You can save money, but if it takes you away from something else, it’s not really saving you money and can result in a headache.
If you have decided that this is something you must do, then first you want to switch to the twenty ten theme(under “appearances”, “themes” then test. If it works, you’ve got an old theme that will either need to be update, or you’ll need to choose a different one. If that doesn’t fix the problem, you’ll need to download and figure out how to use an ftp client. FTP could be thought of as the back door to a site, vs the front door of logging into WordPress. As it’s a very powerful tool, you don’t want to share your login credentials with anyone you don’t trust explicitly. Never even consider posting them on the internet. You can contact your host to have them help you find your login credentials, or read their help file on ftp. You’ll probably want to use filezilla as it’s the most popular client. Here’s instructions for use. Us the credentials from the host, and follow the instructions esmi linked to for resetting the plugins folder(ftp method, not the phpmyadmin method). DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING! Only rename that folder. So long as you don’t go deleting stuff, you’re safe enough with ftp, but you could incapacitate your site by deleting files haphazardly. Follow instructions carefully, or hire a professional. It shouldn’t take long for a pro to get to the bottom of the problem.

Thanks for the advice, I downloaded some software that cleaned the PC and autobacked up my files and then updated WordPress and now it works. I didnt want to have to pay someone again, it was ￡500 for the website but offering support wasn’t his forte!
