Images Not loading consistently

    I have over 200 pages on stefanievega.com that use the Visual Portfolio Carousels. You can access them by clicking on masonry tiles on this page https://stefanievega.com/work/ Since updating to 2.20.1 images in the carousels are not consistently loading (occasionally the masonry tiles do not load, but the carousels are much more frequent). I have had testers try on multiple browsers in multiple states at many different times and more often than not they see blank black rectangles.

    I have deactivated plugins such as Autoptimize and Smush that I thought might conflict with lazy load. I turned lazy load off in Visual Portfolio settings. I tried deactivating as many other plugins as I could. I even tried rolling back to older versions of Visual Portfolio, but I have not been able to fix the problem. I am using the Salient theme and it is updated to its most recent version. This is an artist website so it’s really crucial that the images be consistently visible.

    Can you think of something else I could try to get this working correctly again.

    I wanted to leave it broken with the hopes that someone replying to the forum would see, but after four days I decided to try rolling versions back. I rolled WordPress core back to 6.0.1 and I rolled Visual Portfolio back to 2.19. Now I see the images again. I need to do testing on other devices and networks and get feedback from other visitors, but it looks correct now to me. However, even version 2.19.1 breaks the site again (meaning individual pages that have carousels using the Visual Portfolio plugin the images disappear and I only see black rectangles). Obviously rolling back especially WordPress core is not an ideal permanent solution, so hopefully someone here might have ideas to help me fix this or a future Visual Portfolio update will restore functionality.

    Hey Dahlia.

    Please, try to update the plugin to v2.20.2. There was a problem with displaying images in Carousels with Classic Items Style on Apple devices.

    I have the same issue, only on the French version of my website’s portfolio page on Safari mobile. However, the English version works perfectly although it has been built the same way, by duplicating the page and saved layouts into English from French (translation plugin: Polylang).

    Do you know how can I solve this problem?
