Images not showing in 2.9.2

I have read through all the other posts on this topic and tried the relevant fixes – nothing is working – does anyone have a new fix? The images are there – in Media they show up with a red x on a white box – I go to format and can see them but once I save – they no longer show. I have tried reloading images through DreamWeaver. Thank you.
