Images not showing in multi site

I have have multiple multi-sites. I own a hosting company and develop custom programming. But it’s not my plugin.

The PHP string is adding an additional /sites/sitenumber/ to the URL
URL looks like https://domainname.xyz/wp-content/uploads/sites/#/sites/#/image.png

That should be an easy fix but I’m in the middle of three other large projects and just don’t have time right now to fix it. The author should be able to find that string and easily fix it.

MultiSite is not on the immediate roadmap but I’d be willing to take a look and resolve if not too time consuming.
