    Hi guys,

    Hope you’re all great.

My blog’s located at https://thegoldenowl.co.uk/blog and seems to be running fine to me. I mainly use Safari, but FF too and it runs well on both.

However I’m told the second image (the first after the header) does not show on I.E. Can somebody please tell me why this may be, where I’m going wrong and how to fix it? The theme I’m using is “Rio”, but I’ve customised it some.

Also, I was wondering how I would go about setting up a “search” function on my blog, and maybe pages. Will the blog automatically create “page 2” once so many stories have been posted, or will it forever scroll down? If the latter, I’m sure you can see how tedious this may be what with all the images and stuff that will be present and might takes years to load!

    All help is really appreciated.

    Thanks

    Felix

I failed to say, apparently all the other images show. Just not the initial one, the Articulate Magazine logo.

    Confused, I am.

Can anybody NOT on a Mac please check to see if all images load on Internet Explorer and Firefox on Windows, please?

My mother says they don’t for her, but all of us (house of Macs) have no problem.

    This is bugging me!

    Anyone?

The problem is with https://therealchip.com/articulateowl.jpg which doesnt show in IE.

Simple fix – on your pc – open the file in Paint or something and save it without making changes, upload. Then it will work in IE.

    I know I tried.

Search functions – change your theme to one which has a search box already and you will see how it works.

Scrolling down etc – you can get various plugins to show page numbering such as wp-pagebar – search the site for page numbering or “pagebar”

    Hi.

Does the picture now load? I hope so.. please let me know..

Is there anyway of having a search function without changing the theme? I love my current theme and don’t want to change.

I’ll search for pagebar, thank you ??

    No still not loading.

As I said before download and open the file in some edit tool and Save it again. I tried it with Windows Paint and it fixed it for IE.

But I assume you do not have paint as you dont have IE (Linux then prob).

    Search – try this

Hi there, I opened it in Preview (on my Mac) and resaved it and renamed it. Still didnt work.

So I just did a screenprint of the picture and uploaded the .png file.

Still don’t understand what was wrong with that image though? Any explanation?

    Thanks for you help.

    Felix

Probably something that the Mac Preview application does.

I dont have Mac, I use xp and Linux.

I would suspect its just the image format was corrupted in someway that IE (being Microsoft) could not understand – whereas Firefox could.
