WP is running on a computer I have here, not a far-off server. When writing a post and attempting to upload an image i get:

“Unable to create directory C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2006/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

I know the problem is that the path has both slashes and back-slashes, but I don’t know how to fix it.

    Anything?

Somewhere around here I remember reading that EVERY FOLDER used in that upload path has to be writeable. Try that first. It might not be the selection of slashes if all the folders aren’t writeable….

If it’s a server thing, I won’t be able to help; only one I know anything about is XAMPP….

Try checking under “options–>misc” to make sure the uploads folder is ‘wp-content/uploads’.

Then, to go the general options and make sure the WordPress and Blog Addresses are something like ‘https://localhost/wordpress’ with no \’s after them.

I’m not sure that this is the problem, but it’s my 2 cents.

No luck. I have no clue what to do. Is XAMPP pretty easy to use?

Yeah…. but it’s okay as long as you’re up and running!
