• I haven’t used my website in a long time and recently uploaded it again. I’ve noticed that some functions aren’t working correctly. For example, on the homepage, there used to be two full-screen sliding images with a logo in the top left corner, but neither is showing now. The site was built using the Sydney Child theme. Since I created the site a while ago, I can’t remember all the details. I’ve updated all the plugins and the theme, but some plugins might still be outdated. I’ve deactivated the ones that aren’t necessary. Also, for some reason, Elementor isn’t working properly—it just keeps loading but never finishes. Can anyone help me figure out why the images on the homepage and the logo aren’t showing, and what could be causing the issue with Elementor?

Front page header is set to?Full screen slider. Images are also set in both slides.

    Hi @yxda,

After reviewing your site, it appears that some of your images are not loading because of mixed SSL content. To resolve this issue:

    1. First, ensure that your server has a valid SSL certificate installed.
    2. Next, you’ll need to fix the mixed SSL content. You can do this by using a plugin designed for this purpose. You can find suitable plugins by searching for “SSL content” on the WordPress plugin directory: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/ssl+content/.

Let me know if you need further assistance!

Thanks, Kharis. It took some time to get the SSL activated, but now it’s up and running. That could indeed be the major problem. However, there are still some icons that aren’t showing properly. Also, sometimes when I load my website, the pages appear messed up. On other occasions, they seem fine except for the small icons, which often don’t display properly. How can I resolve any remaining mixed SSL content issues with these plugins? Do you recommend any specific plugins for this?

I suspect another issue could be that I created my site about five years ago and used a Child Theme (version 1.x series) at the time, that I prepared by adding codes to original themes. I was hesitant to update it because I feared it might break the site. However, the parent theme was updated when I recently uploaded my website again, and now the Sydney parent theme is at version 2.51. I’ve also noticed issues with Elementor. I had to revert to version 3.26.5 because it didn’t work at all. I still doesn’t function well. My WordPress version is 6.7.2. I’m concerned that some versions of these plugins, themes, and WordPress may not be compatible with each other. I turned off the other plugins for the time being. Should I revert to an older version of the Sydney parent theme? What versions of Elementor and WordPress should be compatible with this Sydney Child theme?

I checked your site using an SSL checker tool, and it looks like there might be an SSL issue. To resolve this, I recommend reaching out to your web hosting provider—they’ll be able to help fix it. Here’s a reference screenshot for more details: https://i.snipboard.io/FejPEG.jpg.

From what I understand, SSL issues aren’t related to your theme, child theme, or page builder plugin. SSL is handled at the server level, so your hosting provider is the best place to ask for a solution.
