Images renamed

  • The synced images to the staging site are sometimes messed up, and almost always with truncated filenames. This alone renders the plugin as useless.

    Thanks for writing to us on this.

    WPSiteSync itself does not make any changes to file names. We do update directory names if the Target site is installed in a subdirectory, but that’s just to keep the path naming consistent with other images in the Media Library.

    You mention that the names are “messed up”. Can you give an example, before and after of the name changes?

    What could be happening is you have a plugin on the Target site that is modifying the image name. Something like the Clean Image Filenames plugin will do this. What plugins do you have running on the Target site?
