Images sometimes load, sometimes don't

  • Hi,

    I have seen this topic a few times, but haven’t seen it resolved. I am having an issue where images randomly will not load on random webpages. Other times they will. I mostly notice it when I use other people’s computers to look at the site. It will happen completely randomly, and usually to just one or two images on the page. I will refresh and sometimes it will load the next time, sometimes not.

    As far as plugins, I don’t have any cacheing plugins, unless there is a plugin that comes with that as a side thing.

    The site is https://beginningstocktrader.com and it is usually on other pages (like https://beginningstocktrader.com/learning-center/ currently on my computer) where things don’t load.

    In the console, I see a number of errors like this;

    Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 504 (Gateway Timeout)

    It appears you’re using Jetpack’s Photon CDN for your images; those errors are related to the WordPress CDN.

    It may be due to Photon not being able to pull the image from your site fast enough.

    I just did a hard refresh of my browser and the errors are gone.

    So if I turn off Photon in Jetpack will it fix it? I am relatively new at this. Seems too easy haha…

    Turning of photon should help ?? I’m chatting with a photon guy over on the other monitor; he says ” My guess is the initial pull was slow/corrupt and things might have been cached locally too.”

    But as I said, I’m not seeing the problem any more.

    Yeah it was very random that it wouldn’t work. I will turn it off and test it for a few weeks on a few different computers. Thanks for your help!
