When I try to upload any image to the Media Library to insert into a post I get a broken image icon. All my previously loaded images are fine. This has only occurred since the upgrade to 3.7.1 It was otherwise working.
I have tried deactivating all plugins which has not worked. And changed themes.
Not a wizz so wasn’t sure how to do some of the other stuff that was suggested.

I am meant to be uploading images daily and have no means of adding them to the site. Is there any way I can remove the 3.7.1 changes????
Cheers
Weny

Kmessinger – I have done all of these except the last which is to upgrade again as the only available update zip that I can find is 3.7.1 again rather than reverting back to 3.7 as I suggest – is this possible?

I have downloaded the zip file, but see that others are having this problem too which seems like it is not isolated incident?

Please describe what happens? Can you upload to a post with either uploaded?
Right click on the broken icon and look at properties. This is where the image is disposed to be.

So when in a post i go to Add Media. Choose a file to upload. It will go through the upload process but displays with a icon for broken image. If I select and insert it into the post then it does not display the image.

In terms of properties – I cannot find anywhere that will allow me to right click and give me the properties. (not sure if this is what you were looking for the code [caption id="attachment_741" align="alignleft" width="150"]<img class=”size-thumbnail wp-image-741″ alt=”Jim’s Legs at Cabo Finisterre” src=”https://www.derrygoround.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Jim-Leg-@-Cabo-Finisterre-150×150.jpg” width=”150″ height=”150″ /> Jim’s Legs at Cabo Finisterre[/caption]

If I go into the Media library itself I can select Edit and I can see the image there but this is the only place.

Please ask more questions if I haven’t explained properly.

You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Jim-Leg-@-Cabo-Finisterre-150×150.jpg on this server.

Check the permissions. All the folders are supposed to be 755 and files should be 644.

Dumb question where do I check the permissions?

Thread Starter wewie

(@wewie)

Why would the location of these have changed from previous image uploads.

kmessinger

(@kmessinger)

I check them by logging into my host and using the file manager. Something like that with your host should work.

H’mm I have no idea about logging into the host as I was just given an admin password to ensure posts were uploaded daily! Then this ‘broke’. Ek! (Think I am way out of my depth!)

But it does not matter which file that I upload still the same problem. So is this a bug that has come from the latest update? (or who knows?)

Were storing them somewhere different? Check settings>media>Store uploads in this folder. Should be wp-content/uploads

Doesn’t have the option to choose the folder (copy of the page below. I haven’t physically changed the settings unless the 3.7.1 has changed them.

Yes that is good. Can you point me to a link with a broken image. On your site all the images seem to be there.

(@wewie)

All currently there (older posts) I haven’t published any as I wanted images to be there but came up broken.
Try this:

p.s you don’t have to sponsor us – it wasn’t a dig. I appreciate the help.

Here’s a link with an image before that works and a new one I have just tried to add but appears broken.
