I can upload images successfully, but the image won’t insert into our blog. When I attempt to insert the blog, a broken image comes up each time, regardless of whether the photo file is a .png or a .jpeg. Any suggestions??

What is your uploads path in Admin/Settings/Miscellaneous?

Set up as the default one: wp-content/uploads

Can you post a link to a page demonstrating the problem?

I hesitate to post the blog when the images aren’t working since it’s a business web site…is there a way I can take a print-screen or something?

That won’t help. People need to be able to see the generated image paths.

Let me check with my supervisor to see if I have her permission to post.

I got permission! Here’s the link:

    acetinc.com/blog/2010/03/01/visual-representations-of-qualitative-data-3/

[MOD NOTE] If you post the URL without the https://www. you’ll avoid the need to worry about posting the URL, since it’ll not be picked up by search engines etc.. (it will just be read as text now)

hmmm….. the path seems to look good, but I cant access the image files directly using the url

When you actually go to your uploads directory, the images are in there? (using ftp)

    Thread Starter acetinc

    (@acetinc)

Yes, they are. My Picture Manager won’t let me open them since they’re an “internet” source, so I can’t check to see if the images loaded properly.

Just to clarify, by FTP, do you mean going through my shared network on my computer? Or is there a function on WP that I’m unaware of?

Doesn’t look like they’re uploaded at all. Can you see them from your media library in your dashboard?

FTP refers to a file transfer program like filezilla, https://filezilla-project.org/

    Thread Starter acetinc

    (@acetinc)

    I don’t have a media library on my dashboard…

    Thread Starter acetinc

    (@acetinc)

    Found it. Yes, they are.

By ftp, I meant logging into your server using ftp software….. to actually look at what files there are

cuz as @batrachoid stated…the files appear to be missing.

going to acetinc.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/3-Musketeers-Wordle.png in my browser should bring up just that pic, if it is in fact in that location

since the pic doesn’t load….it makes me question if the file is there….

But the image doesn’t load when I click on the link.
