Obviously, you can manually change this but the program is doing this to all images

Well, there is a problem. When uploading images with the Media feature, it is uploading the images as 1px x 1 px and there is no way to edit them to full size.

The other images were uploaded with bulk upload and/or before 3.8…

    This Is a BAD Bug.

… which is specific to your site since none of the 2.5 million other users of WordPress 3.8 have reported this problem. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Others are reporting this issue. Check the boards. I have tried:
    deactivating all plugins
    using the default theme.

Will try FTP and report back

    Others are reporting this issue.

Actually, the forum regulars do communicate with each other and we do highlight & collate potential issues as a team. This has not been one of them, therefore it’s not an issue we are seeing repeatedly. I’m not sure why people assume that everyone who helps here does so in complete isolation. In reality, that’s far from the truth.

Have you deactivated Photon? It tends to be problematic.

Anyway, I was able to upload an image after disabling plugin folder, but when I post the image it is posting as 1×1 px in the post.

After reinstalling plugin folder, photon is disabled. Images load up properly. They still don’t post correctly.

One other report of this does not a core bug make. ??

Can we see your site using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

The hosting server drops in this one by default:

    advanced-cache.php

SuperCache should show up under plugins – reactivate it, delete the cache (in the plugin settings) and then deactivate it.

    (@jefferisp7)

    okay, cache deleted

Can you point us towards one of the 1 x 1px images?
