• Hi everyone.
I only recently updated my php to 7.3 and my WordPress health was 100% on all my websites.
Then on all my sites I got the health warning that I should update to php 7.4
On my hosting company I updated to 7.4 and now I get the the message.

(PHP modules perform most of the tasks on the server that make your site run. (Any changes to these must be made by your server administrator.)

The WordPress Hosting Team maintains a list of those modules, both recommended and required, in the team handbook (opens in a new tab).

Warning The optional module, imagick, is not installed, or has been disabled.)

I contacted my hosting company as it says above,
(Any changes to these must be made by your server administrator.)
    This was there answer!?
Hey! So far imagick does not support 7.4! Could you try downgrading to 7.2 and see if it fixes the issue?
I’m not even sure what Imagick does or if I need to update to php 7.4 but I would like all my websites to have 100% good health.
Has anyone got any ideas on this and do you know if Imagick supports php 7.4 and what I should do.
    Thanks everyone.
    Victor

This is an OS distro thing. I have ImageMagick running happily with PHP 7.4 on Fedora 32 via the php-pecl system: php-pecl-imagick-3.4.4-4.fc32.x86_64 for the current version of ImageMagick, ImageMagick 6.9.10-86 Q16 x86_64 2020-01-3.
However, I doubt that a commercial host would be running Fedora.

So, it’s up to your hosting to get these server level things set up properly.

    Hi Steven.
Sorry as I know nothing about 99% of what your reply means as I know nothing about any of the things you mentioned and was lost after OS distro thing!
Not your fault but all of that is way over my head.
All I do is build websites and try to make sure my plugins and WordPress are up to date and try to resolve any warnings I get.
I do know that I am running php 7.4 and in the php extensions imagick is enabled but it is my wordpress sites that are giving me the warning about imagick.
My hosting company as I said have told me that imagick does not support php 7.4 so I just wanted to know if that was true and what my options would be.
Are they correct about imagick and if so would it be best to ignore the warning message in WordPress or downgrade back to php 7.3 and ignore the message about updating to php 7.4
Sorry but my knowledge is only as far as that and I don’t know anything else about Fedora or any of the other things you mention.
Would you have any advice to a non tech person like me about whether imagick supports 7.4 or not and which of the 2 options would be the best one.
Sorry again for my lack of technical knowledge and thank you very much for your prompt reply
    Cheers Victor

Not so. As I noted, I have it all working happily on my system.

Drop back to 7.3, if possible, until your host sets things up properly.

    Hi Steven.
Thanks again for your speedy reply.
I don’t like it when hosting companies just fob you off and don’t solve an issue if it means they have to make some changes or update their system.
In fact they have suggested as I said above to drop down to php 7.2!!.
I trust people here at WordPress over my hosting company when it comes to issues like this!!
Before I drop back to php 7.3 and put up with the constant warnings from WordPress is there a link to an article you can post here that I can send them to prove that Imagick works with php 7.4
Thank you again and Stay Safe

    Hi Steven.
Just to add when I changed to php 7.4 I checked the php file extensions and Imagick has a tick in the box saying it is enabled.
    Thanks Victor
