Imagify conflicts with WordPress 6.4’s new lightbox functionality

Same here. Disabling the display WebP option through the settings fixes the issue but also removes the webp image format. Hope there’s a fix soon.

The only reason I use Imagify is because of WebP, so disabling it isn’t an option for me…

The solution in this case would be to choose the rewrite rules way to display your WebP images as sometimes the picture tags may be risky(additional information https://imagify.io/documentation/my-images-are-broken/) unless you are using Cloudflare/ CDN.

Further than the above and if you are not able to use rewrite rules another suggestion in order to fix the <picture> tag method, is that you can try to use?this helper plugin?as it should fix broken layouts. Just install and activate it.

@wp_media Switching to rewrite rules isn’t an option for us, as we do use Cloudflare’s Cache Everything feature.

As for the helper plugin, it seems that ZIP file is corrupted.

It does seem the helper plugin fixes the issue with the native lightbox, @wp_media, and it also seems I can remove that additional CSS for resized images — correct?

It’s currently on pre-release.

I don’t have an ETA, but it’s currently on pre-release. It shouldn’t take long before it’s officially available for the Gutenberg plugin and scheduled for a WordPress core release.

@wp_media So, just to confirm, as of WordPress 6.5 that helper plugin isn’t necessary anymore? Can I disable and uninstall it?

Yeah I don’t think this is an Imagify issue. I get the same error on a website without Imagify installed. And it seems to work fine on the basic core 2024 theme.

It does seem the helper plugin is still necessary, as per my testing.
