    Hi, if the username of the author is in one of the XML file’s fields, is it possible to automatically assign that record to that author?

    Hello @pixelshrink ,

    That’s not possible as the author needs to be a registered user with a username, password, and email id. You can import author name in single custom field.

    Thanks very much for the speedy reply, yes the authors are already registered users with username, password and email ID – is this a feature you might be able to add?

    If the author is already a registered user, you can select the author in the “Post author:” dropdown. The below is the screenshot to select “post author”.
