Import B2 database in new installed WP 2

  • I have a fresh installed wordpress 2 and want to import the data from a b2 weblog. I have problems with importing the comments table, but there is not the main problem.
    WP has a table wp_post2cat. B2 doesn’t have that table.
    I have run 2 upgrades from B2 – WP 1,x to WP 2 but now I want to go upgrade directly to wp2. The b2.php file in wp-admin/import is an empty file.
    Is there a way to create the table wp_post2cat so that all the right categories are listed at the posts again. now everwhere is uncategorized. The log has over 5000 posts, so do it all by hand is not really an option

  • If you have b2, to get that ready for 2.0 you must go
    1.0.1
    1.2.2
    1.5.2
    2.0
    that cannot be shortcut. Is that how you have got to where you are ?

    No, I’ve just installed wp 2.0 en imported the B2 database.
    Before I’ve gone from B2 to WP 1.5.2 to WP2.0, and I only had to do some adjustments on the database (add some things to some tables like post_date_gmt tot the wp_post)
    But the mainproblem is this wp_post2cat table. If the only way is step by step… I think I have no choice. There’s no script?

    No script I’m afraid. The fastest way is to use a local setup with xampp as it cuts out all the uploading.

    If you want, email me the complete b2 .sql file and I’ll whizz through the upgrades using xampp here – I should be able to get the file back to you inside 30 minutes.

    Don’t forget to change your admin b2 password before sending the zip as it is not encrypted…
    (not that I wouldn’t trust podz… It’s just something to generally bear in mind… ??

    I also have to do this and I’m having trouble finding the 1.0.1 and 1.2.2 releases. Is there an archive somewhere.

    I already looked under the tags in SVN and it only has 1.5+.
