Import based upon location possible, rather than organiser?

    Hi, I’ve been using the plug in – I need to import based upon location from Eventbrite for instance. The issue with only importing via organiser rather than a chance to specify location, is that if you’re focused in one city at your site, as is so often the case, to import from an organiser on a schedule offer fantastic convenience but not if there is no way to prevent import of unrelated events, ie those from other cities. Has this arisen before? Kind thanks

    Thank you for using our plugin. Yes, many of our plugin users wanted to import events based on the city but Eventbrite API is not providing events based on city so we are not able to get events from specific cities.

    Eventbrite API provides events based on the organizer id so we use that. We are in touch with Eventbrite to provide events based on city, if they will then we would love to have this feature in our plugin.

    Hi there, thanks for your reply.
    Could it be feasible to include options in the plugin to prevent the unwanted posts from registering, by checking custom fields first?
    I think as you say, lots of people will benefit from this feature and it opens up more use cases for the plugin.
    For instance, if the plugin checked custom field ‘location_town’ or ‘post_title’ before registering a post, and it either does, or does not include X (user can enter their chosen X into a text box in wp admin, for example NEW YORK) – then those event and / or location posts which include NEW YORK in the post_title or location_town (you could include town / state / country etc options), will not register as posts during the import.     Also the option to import via RSS would be very useful, and map the correct field to for instance wp events manager’s _event_start_date
