Import bookings from airbnb

You also need to start the synchronization. Go to WP Availability Calendar & Bookings tab, select Import & Export and click on the start button under the block Synchronisation with external Calender. This will do the synchronization (import from Airb&b) once. Select the option Run automatic sync to make the job recurrent.
To check if Airb&b gives a correct output copy the link to the browser and a file will be downloaded. Check the content with a text editor to see if it contains bookings. Sometimes Airb&b only generate a file with a header and footer but without content.
In the description see also my Remark on external calendars. Airb&b generates at each synchronization a different UID for the bookings. This will result in multiple (overlapping) bookings in the database.

Dear Jan,

I managed to download the airbnb file by going through the “import & export” tab by clicking “export Ical”. This text contains indeed headers, but is no reservation/booking information. From the part “Remarks on external calendars” in the description of the plugin I do understand that bookings cannot be imported automatically from airbnb (“For these external calendars the possible recurrent schedule of the download is not very useful.”). Is this correct? If so, are there other sites that do not generate a new UID each time? How about booking.com for example?

I know about bedandbreakfast.nl but I have no information for booking.com Goolge agenda for example keeps the UID for each agenda item unique.

The UID is something like a social security number. When born an agenda item gets its UID and that should never be changed. In this way agenda items may travel from agenda to agenda and will always be recognized to avoid duplication of the same agenda item.

As airb&b each time generates a new UID duplication in the Availability Calendar cannot be avoided.

One of my users which uses multiple bookings sites like airb&b and bedandbreakfast.nl solved this issue by making the Availability Calendar the master agenda. Doing here all the changes on the bookings and upload (automatic synchronization) to the other bookings sites. This user is very happy with this way of working.
