Import buddypress forum role

Hi all,

I’ve looking for a while for the proper column header to import buddypress forum roles. I’ve found how to assign folks to groups (thanks this is awesome), but thus far am not able to assign them “Particpant” roles from the available options: Keymaster, Moderator, Participant, Spectator, Blocked

I’ve tried:
column title: role
cell input: subscriber, bbp_participant
=> error I do not have the rights …

column title: bp_role
cell input: participant

Does not add the proper role

column title: bbp_role
cell input: participant

The correct one is bp_group_role

This is explained in the documentation tab: If you want to assign an user to a group you have to create a column ‘bp_group’ and a column ‘bp_group_role’

Thanks for your response, that is however not what I am looking for.
I can indeed import participants into bp groups (thanks for that, it super clear in the explanation), but I don’t find how to assign them to the general forum.

I am not an IT expert, so I am certain that I am overlooking something.

In the general users overview I have following following fields:
Username
Name
Email
Site Role
Forum Role
Posts
2FA Status
Last Login

Whenever I use your tool “Forum Role” remains blank, and I need to manually adjust it user by user. I am guessing that is not the intention, so how can I import that role?

Sorry I am not a BP expert and I don’t know what are you referring to.

Maybe when we prepared the addon to make this compatible with BuddyPress, we did not include it.

What is the forum role? BuddyPress is not a plugin to create forums so not sure what are you referring to.

Hi Javier,

Sorry for the wait time, and you are right there are 2 plugins. There is budypress, and it comes with an additional plugin bbpress. So based on your response I assume that bbpress is not supported. The plug-in allows for a forum that integrates with the budypress features.

So … I guess this question has now become a feature request. Thanks for your fast response, really appreciate it. For now, I’ll manual adjust their roles post import.

Currently we have much work, but maybe in an future we can include it.
