I have over 700 notes from my iPhone that I really want on my blog. I’ve managed to download them onto my computer and I can convert them to .rtf or .docx files, but I can’t seem to find a way to upload them in bulk to my website.

Does anyone know how I can upload the data onto my WordPress site as posts?

I know I can upload .csv or .xml files, but I’m not sure how to convert the data I’ve got into one of these files. Do I need to convert all the files to .xml files or somehow put them all into one .xml/.csv file?

If this is the case, again I would appreciate some advice how to do this.

.docx actually is a XML file. It may need cleaning up to make it fully compatible with whichever import plugin you use. And you might need to change .docx to .xml, which would be appropriate anyway if you cleaned out all the extraneous MS Word cruft.

Whether you need multiple files or one big one depends on the import plugin you choose and how the file is structured. Identify a promising import plugin and determine what sort of XML structure it is expecting. Edit a copy of the .docx file via search and replace (of a plain text editor) to get it to that place.

Hi @colemanb, Please follow the below steps, then you can convert your docs to posts directly in wordpress –
step 1 – Install ‘Mammoth .docx converter’ plugin
step 2 – Activate the plugin
step 3 – create a new post or edit an existing one
step 4 – On the post edit screen, you will find the Mammoth .docx converter metabox, below the post editor.
step 5 – click on the ‘choose file’ button to select a .docx file from your computer.

I hope you got a solution.

    Thanks.
