Import facebook event problem

  • Hi,
    I am trying to import facebook events into a WordPress site. I created the app and it is properly authorized. When I try to import by event ID (only have the free version for now) I get the message:
    “We are not able to access Facebook event: 194526381634711. Possible reasons: – App Credentials are wrong – Facebook event is not public or some restrictions are there like age,country etc.”
    I have tried all possible settings by now I think… What could be the problem?

    Hello @jaiseri,

    Thanks for contacting us, Make sure that event id you are trying to import, you are the admin of that event or you have marked that event as interested.

    To be able to import FB event you need to be admin of event or you need to mark that event as interested/going

    Thanks for your answer @rajat1192, I am administrator of the facebook page, but another person handles events. I did mark it as interested (I really dont want that to be a criteria for showing the event in WordPress). Doesn’t work anyway. Should I also be made admin of every single event?

    By the way… If upgrading to pro, will I still have to be admin, mark as interested etc?
    Would like to see it working this way first though ??

    Hello @jaiseri,

    As per Facebook API, you need to be associated with an event to be able to import it. Either you need to owner/admin of that event/page or you need to mark an event as interested.

    If you are an admin of page and event is posted by that page it will get imported without marking it else you need to mark it interested.

    Thank you, but it doesn’t work. As said I am admin but I get that error message when I try to import.

    Hmm… Deleted the app and started over – Now it works. I have no Idea what is different ??
