Import failing with Cannot set time limit in safe mode error

  • I am trying to move my wordpress blog to a different server. When I try and run an import on the new server I am getting the following error:

    Warning: set_time_limit() [function.set-time-limit]: Cannot set time limit in safe mode in /export/homei/…/wp-admin/import/wordpress.php on line 367

    The import gets a fatal error after 30 seconds of these failures. Anyone know how I can correct this problem? The server is not controlled by me, I have a shell account with access to a mySQL database.
