    Hi there.
I read your problem with ungrateful plugin users & I sympathies. I also see that perhaps more people are contributing to your hard work as a result this (hopefully)

Anyway, I have an issue that I seem to have worked around but thought I’d mention it here. Maybe I’m doing something wrong??

If I create a post directly in WP then export using your plugin (as recommended), I have a csv file with a wp-id and all respective columns for that post, as expected.

If I then create new posts directly on the CSV spreadsheet without wp-ids, with regard to your Add, Modify, and Delete explanation, the upload just hangs – stays on 0% indefinitely.
I’ve been leaving the original post, in row two, on the sheet with it’s ID.

So, if I then remove the original product with the ID from the sheet, so it only has the new posts & blank IDs, the sheet uploads & creates the new posts, which is great.

Is this supposed to happen? Do I need to upload changes to current post on a separate csv sheet & new, blank ID posts on another as it doesn’t seem to work with both on the same sheet?

No problem if I do. Just wondered really.
It’s just taken me a while to work out.

    Cheers

    Hi Morphim

Thanks for your contribution to the plugin. Really appreciated. I only spend minimal time on this plugin so rely on users like you to tell me when there’s a bug.

Due to your clear description I should be able to easily reproduce this problem myself and find a fix. Give me a few days to a week to find some free time though!

    Best wishes

    Hi Paul
No problem. I wasn’t really looking for you to spend time fixing it. Just thought I’d mention it.
Having two sheets; one for existing & another for new isn’t really a problem. I just thought I might have been missing something.

    Cheers

Hi guys, just wondering if this problem was ever fixed.

    Hi Morphim

I’ve just uploaded version 1.7.7, which may help. I definitely seem to be able to import a CSV file that contains new and modify lines.

If it’s still a problem, please contact me directly via my site so that we can exchange emails and then you can send me a copy of the problematic CSV file.

    Best wishes

    Thanks for the reply, Paul.
I appreciate your attention. I’ll give it a go & report back when I can.

    Cheers
