Import from DotClear

  • Hi !

    Is there someone here who try to import data from Dotclear blog ?
    I prefer to ask before dig in this issue… !

  • I don’t know of such. A question in return is, can Dotclear export to an intermediary format, say MovableType or even RSS?

    For those who are looking to import posts from DotClear, you can do it thanks to RSS.
    In DotClear, you have to make a big export :
    In rss.php, modify line 74

    $news = $blog->getLastNews(n,$cat,’post_dt ASC’);

    Replace n by number of posts.

    The drawback is you’ll lost the link between posts & comments… ouch !

    Any other solution ?

    I understand the point but I’m not familar with WP for the moment. So what do you do in WP to import the RSS feed ?

    For interested people, someone from b2evolution gave me a nice idea : to generate an export from Dotclear to Movable Type format.

    As b2 and WP handles import from MT, this converter will be easy to be used from both WP and b2 community ??

    Using the new WordPress 2.0 import framework, I implemented a dotclear import plugin which is now part of the main WP repository (changeset 3419).
