• Hello, I know that the theme I have (catalyst theme with dynamik child theme) is supporting multi language.

So, from what I understand if I i have the right mo and po files all text on my website for menus and administrative content suppose to be translated from those.

I’ve loaded the files (in Chinese) using the xili backend and keep getting this message:
    Languages sub-folder: /languages
    Available MO files:

CAUTION: no load_theme_textdomain() in functions.php – review the content of file in the current theme or choose another canonical theme. See Wiki for more details

So, I’m know something is wrong but I don’t know why becuase import seemed to be okay.

I might be missing something in the process and tried to read through it, but still it doesn’t work.

Would appreciate your help. Thank you,
    Shlomo

  • The context here his :
    – a framework named catalyst = commercial
    – a commercial child theme named dynamik
According online doc theme seems to be localizable and ready to create front-end mo file via poedit if not yet available.
What xili-language plugin detects : this framework don’t use canonical wp function to localize a theme : load_theme_textdomain. Probably uses another generic function but not hookable by plugin…
xili-language plugin is free and the author cannot make a free deeper diagnosis with a not free (profitable) theme. Some other framework creator provides for free and xili-language developer can provides consulting hours or delivers adapted themes for pro.
Via the support form included in xili-language admin settings screen ask developer for a quotation if you want to pursue.
